Dr. Miele is a licensed psychologist in NY & NJ. He has a Ph.D. in psychology from Seton Hall University and a Master's Degree in psychology from Fairleigh Dickinson University in Teaneck, NJ. He has interned with psychoanalysts related to the Academy of Clinical and Applied Psychoanalysis in Livingston, NJ and continues in postdoctoral training there. His primary theoretical framework is Modern Psychoanalytic, although he is also trained in cognitive behavioral and humanistic techniques. Dr. Miele has worked in the mental health field for many years as an administrator and clinician in settings such as residential treatment of adolescents, adult psychiatric day treatment programs, and private non-profit and state psychiatric hospitals. He is skilled in the individual and group treatment of older adolescents, young adults and adults presenting with a full spectrum of symptoms. His particular interest is in the treatment of people with severe and persistent mental illness and people who are resistant to treatment.
