What is biofeedback therapy?
This is a type of a therapy which involves teaching the patient to be aware of physiological
differences between tension (e.g. headaches, tachycardia, and pain) and relaxation. It
involves immediate feedback to the patient through visible or audible recordings of the
patients biological functioning during anxiety versus relaxation states; the procedure
reinforces the patient awareness of which state is present and helps the patient to control it.
